Fan-favorite featherweight contender, Shane Burgos is set for another ‘Big Apple’ bout as The Bronx native returns on July 16. in an eye-catching 145lb pairing opposite Canadian standout, Charles Jourdain at UFC Fight Night Long Island from the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
Shane Burgos, who currently sits at #14 in the official featherweight pile, features for the second consecutive outing in his home state – after he landed an impressive victory opposite Billy Quarantillo last November at UFC 268 inside the walls of Madison Square Garden.
For Jourdain, the Canadian all-rounder managed to land his second straight victory back in April at UFC Vegas 52, stopping storied featherweight newcomer, Lando Vannata with an impressive first round guillotine triumph. Eurosport NL reporter, Marcel Dorff was first to report Burgos’ bout against Jourdain.

Sidelined until November of last year following just his third professional defeat, Burgos featured in a high-profile UFC 262 pairing against renowned striking talent, Edson Barboza, suffering a peculiar third round, delayed knockout defeat following a hugely-competitive back-and-forth for two rounds.

In notable career successes during his time with the UFC in particular, Burgos added the aforenoted, Quarantillo to prior wins against competition including Cub Swanson, Charles Rosa, and Makwan Amirkhani.
Beloeil native, Jourdain scored his second consecutive victory over Vannata back in April, adding the veteran New Mexico native to an impressive unanimous decision success against Andre Ewell.
Trading a series of wins and losses during his UFC tenure so far, Jourdain has also defeated Doo Ho Choi, and Marcelo Rojo during his time with the organization.
UFC Fight Night Long Island is set to take place on July 16. from the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York – with a potential featherweight title-eliminator between two-time championship challenger, Brian Ortega, and Mexico striker, Yair Rodriguez set to take headlining honors.
