Streaking UFC lightweight contender, Islam Makhachev insists he would travel to former undisputed division champion, Charles Oliveira’s native Brazil in order to secure a vacant title fight – urging the latter to show his face to boot.

Makhachev, currently riding a 10-fight winning streak – just one less than division outlier, Oliveira who boasts 11 straight victories, has been tipped to challenge the Brazilian for vacant 155lb spoils later this year.

For Sao Paulo native, Oliveira, the promotion’s most prolific submission artist headlined UFC 274 earlier this month against former interim lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje, stopping the Arizona native with a first round rear-naked choke.

However, Oliveira tipped the championship scales by half a pound ahead of the Phoenix headliner, resulting in his stripping as the undisputed lightweight gold holder.

As a result, the lightweight crown now becomes vacant, with Oliveira set to challenge for vacant gold for the second time in his Octagon tenure, welcoming title fights against most notably, former two-division kingpin, Conor McGregor.

“@CharlesDoBronx (Charles Oliveira) where are you?” Islam Makhachev tweeted.

Previously, both Oliveira and Makhachev have been linked with an October showdown in Abu Dhabi, UAE, however, the Brazilian’s head coach, Diego Lima has called for a Brazilian outing for his student – and Makhachev appears willing to make the trip to South America.

“We can fight in the middle of Paraiba (Brazilian flag emoji) bro, just make sure you boy Charles shows up (winking face emoji),” Islam Makhachev tweeted in response to a Twitter user.”

Clinching the vacant lightweight crown back in May of last year, Oliveira knocked out Michael Chandler, before successfully landing his sole successful title defense with a standing rear-naked choke win against former interim gold holder, Dustin Poirier back in December at UFC 269.
