Paddy Pimblett vs. Jordan Leavitt Booked For UFC London Event On July 23.

    A lightweight matchup between former Cage Warriors featherweight titleholder, Paddy Pimblett, and Dana White’s Contender Series alum, Jordan Leavitt has been added to a UFC Fight Night London card on July 23. from The O2 Arena in London, England.

    Set for his second homecoming since his UFC bow back in September, Pimblett, a native of Liverpooi, featured in a high-profile lightweight outing at another UFC Fight Night London event earlier this year in March.

    Battling with now-promotional alum, Kazula Vargas, Pimblett was again forced to rally from some worrying early round moments against the Mexico City native – submitting Vargas with an eventual rear-naked choke to the delight of a raucous crowd in the capital.

    For Leavitt, the 26-year-old ‘Sin City’ native, he turned in his second consecutive victory back in April at UFC Vegas 51 – finding himself on the right side of a split decision victory. The official UFC Europe Twitter account confirmed Pimblett’s homecoming outing against Leavitt.

    Pimblett, who plys his trade under the tutelage of Paul Rimmer at Next Generation MMA in his native Liverpool, made his highly-anticipated Octagon bow back in September on the main card of UFC Vegas 36 as part of a notable UK contingent.

    Again, forced to rally and survive some early round setbacks, Pimblett managed to stop Brazilian upstart, Luigi Vendramini with a series of late first round strikes to land a victory in his Octagon debut. 

    3-1 during his four-fight UFC tenure, Leavitt debuted in December 2020 with a massive slam knockout win over Matt Wiman, and apart from a decision defeat against Claudio Puelles, Leavitt has submitted Matt Sayles, before his April judging success against the above mentioned, Ogden.
