Following the cancellation of their scheduled UFC 275 clash next month in Singapore, former undisputed middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker – who was forced from the June card, has welcomed the opportunity to rebook his bout with Marvin Vettori for an earmarked UFC Paris event on September 3.

Robert Whittaker, a former undisputed middleweight champion, was slated to meet against Vettori at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, however, an injury suffered at the beginning of his training camp for the June outing forced his withdrawal from the bout.

“Alright so I guess since can’t find an opponent any earlier I’m fighting (Robert) Whittaker in Paris,” Marvin Vettori tweeted. “You better show the f*ck up this time. Let’s do it, I’ve been waiting for too long now.”

In his most recent Octagon appearance, Whittaker suffered a second career defeat to common-foe, Israel Adesanya back in February of last year in the form of a unanimous judging defeat at UFC 271.

For Vettori, the Kings MMA standout managed to rebound from his own rematch decision loss to Adesanya in November most recently, defeating one-time title challenger, Paulo Costa with a back-and-forth unanimous decision win in an impromptu light heavyweight headliner.

Whilst not officially penciled for Paris on September 3., the promotion are actively working toward making their French debut on that date in the county’s capital – with a heavyweight main event between former interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane, and surging Australian knockout artist, Tai Tuivasa slated to take main event honors.
