Paul Craig vs. Volkan Oezdemir Added To UFC London Event On July 23.

    A light heavyweight pairing between surging Scottish submission expert, Paul Craig, and one-time division title chaser, Volkan Oezdemir has been added to UFC Fight Night London on July 23. from The O2 Arena in London, England.

    Paul Craig, who featured at UFC London back in March, managed to once again rally for a first round submission win over former Fight Nights Global light heavyweight champion, Nikita Krylov – stopping the Ukraine native with a first round triangle finish. 

    Attempting to snap his two-fight losing skid in his matchup with Paul Craig in July, Oezdemir suffered a rather one-sided unanimous decision loss against surging common-foe, Dagestan native, Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 267 back in October of last year in Abu Dhabi, UAE. UFC Europe confirmed the pairing of Craig and Oezdemir on their official Twitter account.

    Riding a four-fight winning run, Craig, who managed to scoop the #8 rank in the light heavyweight division with his success against Krylov, added the grappler to wins over Jamahal Hill, former champion, Mauricio Rua, and Gadzhimuradov Antigulov. 

    16-4-1 as a professional, Craig, a native of Airdrie began his professional career embarking on a nine-fight undefeated run.

    Rallying to stop common-foe, the above mentioned, Ankalaev in the latter’s promotional debut, Craig wrapped up a third round triangle win, with just a single second remaining in the pair’s UFC Fight Night London clash in March 2018.

    Paul Craig holds a staggering 13 professional submission victories

    In other notable organizational victories, Craig has bested the likes of Kennedy Nzechukwu, and Vinicius Moreira. 

    17-6 as a professional, Fribourg native, Oezdemir once challenged for undisputed light heavyweight spoils, dropping a UFC 220 ground strikes defeat against former two-weight titleholder, Daniel Cormier. 

    Landing an impressive 12 knockout victories from 17 total career wins, Oezdemir has notably handed defeats to the likes of Ovince Saint Preux, Misha Cirkunov, Jimi Manuwa, Ilir Latifi, and upcoming UFC Vegas 54 headliner, Aleksandar Rakic.  

    UFC London takes place on July 23. from The O2 Arena in London, England – with a heavyweight division main event between Curtis Blaydes, and Tom Aspinall booked to take headlining status.
