Following their infamous pre-event UFC London altercation last month, streaking lightweight prospect, Paddy Pimblett has claimed that if the promotion wish to book him against the undefeated lightweight debutante, Ilia Topuria next – he would accept the pairing.

Pimblett, who landed his second Octagon victory at UFC London last month in front of a raucous home crowd, stopped Kazula Vargas with a first round rear-naked choke victory – adding the Mexico native to a prior success against Luigi Vendramini in his UFC bow back in September.

Paddy Pimblett improved his record to 18-3 with his first round win over Kazula Vargas

However, the former Cage Warriors featherweight titleholder was involved in a physical altercation with the aforenoted, Topuria during fight week ahead of the event, with Topuria confronting Pimblett for comments made about Georgia, after Pimblett had previously tweeted how he was not surprised Russian forced had “terrorized” the country in the past.

Sharing the card Pimblett at The O2 Arena, Topuria, who made his lightweight divisional bow against another former Cage Warriors kingpin, Jai Herbert – rallied from an adversity filled opening round to stop the Wolverhampton native with a blistering second round, one-punch knockout.

Following his twelfth consecutive professional victory, Topuria, who currently sits at #15 in the official featherweight rankings, called for a matchup with rival, Pimblett next, however, many speculated that the promotion would elect against booking the two prospects opposite each other.

According to Huyton fan-favorite, Pimblett, however, he welcomes a bout against the finisher, Topuria – claiming that should the UFC offer him that pairing next, he would have no qualms about accepting the fight.

“If his (Ilia Topuria) name’s on the next contract the UFC send me then, yeah, I’ll fight him,” Paddy Pimblett told BBC Sport during a recent interview following his UFC London win over the above mentioned, Vargas.

“I don’t go out of my way to mention anyone’s name, because I don’t need to,” Paddy Pimblett continued. “He (Topuria) can do as he pleases. I take everything one fight at a time. You can’t plan even five fights ahead because anything can happen.”

Stoking the flames in his rivalry with Pimblett, Halle Westfalen-born contender, Topuria tweeted “Paddy ‘The Baddy’ (Paddy Pimblett) I’m your DADDY (laughing face emoji) hahahha @theufcbaddy (excrement emoji).”
