UFC welterweight contenders and recent opponents, Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington were reportedly involved in a physical altercation outside a restaurant in Miami Beach, Florida last night – off the back of their UFC 272 headliner earlier this month.

Per an initial report from Fox Sports South Florida radio presenter, Andy Slater on his official Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday morning, both former interim champion, Covington and former two-time title challenger, Masvidal were involved in a physical altercation at the Papi Steak restaurant in Maimi Beach, resulting in law enforcement officers attending the scene of the alleged fight.

Following the initial report from Slater, Jorge Masvidal, a native of Miami, Florida and staple of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, posted a video on his official Twitter, hinting at an alleged run-in and subsequent altercation with Covington.

“Calling this the show-your-face challenge, you know?” Jorge Masvidal said. “Um, what’s up? I’m from Dade Count. You talk that sh*t, you gotta back it up. That’s how my city rolls, man.”

Masvidal’s agents and managers, Malki and Abraham Kawa of First Round Management also issued tweets alluding to a public skirmish between their client and Covington.

“I’m hearing that a someone not from Miami who says he’s the king of it is missing a tooth,” Malki Kawa tweeted. “Can someone confirm this? I need the video asap.”

“You got to be from DADE County to understand,” Abraham Kawa tweeted.

Outlet, TMZ also acquired video footage following the alleged incident, which appears to show former interim welterweight champion, Covington outside of the Papi Steak restaurant, where he is surrounded by responding law enforcement officers at around 11:30 p.m. ET.

In the often inaudible video footage, Covington can be heard saying, however, “He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran out the back of the room.” Covington then appears to ask podcaster, Bob Menery how his location was known, asking, “How would he even know I’m here?”

“Never had a problem with @GamebredFighter (Jorge Masvidal),” Bob Menery tweeted. “Extremely disappointed in the way he decided to handle his ongoing ‘beef’ that has already been decided in a regulated platform.” (H/T MMA Junkie)

Masvidal headlined UFC 272 against Covington just over two weeks ago at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, suffering a unanimous decision loss to the latter in the pair’s notorious, high-profile grudge match.
