Former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor has offered to fight recent UFC Vegas 49 victor, the streaking Islam Makhachev in the future – labelling the #3 ranked contender, a “sh*t stain”, as well as criticizing his ability, and claiming he “bottled” a short-notice UFC 272 fight with Rafael dos Anjos.
McGregor, who last featured back in July of last year, headlined UFC 264 against former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier, fracturing his left tibia resulting in an opening round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss.
In the time since, McGregor has been recovering from his injury and subsequent surgical procedure, and has outlined plans to return to sparring and mixed martial arts training by the time April rolls around – as well as teasing a late July return to the Octagon.
Whilst a slew of potential opponents have been linked with welcoming McGregor back to the UFC from injury, the 33-year-old echoed calls recently for a lightweight title shot against reigning champion, Charles Oliveira – offering to fight the Brazilian in July, and urging him to swerve a May 7. title showdown against Justin Gaethje.
In a series of tweets this Friday evening, however, McGregor offered to fight the streaking, above mentioned, Makhachev, questioning his recent victory over Bobby Green last weekend, as well as criticizing him for “bottling” a UFC 272 bout with former titleholder, dos Anjos.
“I’ll fight that sh*t stain (Islam Makhachev) Makchavich (sic), no sweat,” Conor McGregor tweeted. Embarrassing g’n’p (ground and pound) the other night (UFC Vegas 49) imo. Pitiful punching. And then bottles the RDA (Rafael dos Anjos) fight after mouthing of (off) (to) him lol. Embarrassing. Watch when I come back. Same as before. Anyone. Any weight. Anywhere. Game full of sh*t stains.”
“Full mount g’n’p and the guy (Bobby Green) bounces up not a scratch, huggin’ and kissin’,” Conor McGregor tweeted. “Talkin’ bout thanks for the match etc. If that’s me there’s holes left in their head like they been smacked with a sock full of golf balls. Don’t even know where they are. Caramel butter skin strikes again!”
“Am I the only one that sees this stuff for what it is or what’s the craic?” Conor McGregor tweeted. “Not a scratch, man. Embarrassing!”
“I open skin like I’m a scalpel,” Conor McGregor tweeted.
The Crumlin native then confirmed that he is set to undergo a scan on his injured leg on Monday coming, in a bid to assess the recovery process, as well as confirming he will be returning, “100%”.
“The sooner the better this leg heals fully and we can get the f*ck back going again, proper!” Conor McGregor tweeted. “It’s coming 100%! My next scan is this Monday.”
McGregor then tweeted a picture of Makhachev’s teammate, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, who was involved in the infamous UFC 229 post-fight brawl back in October 2018, with McGregor labelling the Nurmagomedovs as rats.
“G’n’P so good I bounce up and smack your whole family around,” Conor McGregor tweeted. “Rat family. Call the mystic mac exterminator.”
