Jon Jones has revealed he and his longtime fiancé, Jesse Moses have separated, urging haters of his to have a “toast” in celebration following her decision to leave the former two-time UFC light heavyweight champion.
Jones, a former two-time undisputed light heavyweight under the UFC’s banner, has yet to feature in the Octagon since a February 2020 title defense against Dominick Reyes, marking a period in excess of two years of inactivity for the Rochester native.
The 34-year-old officially vacated his light heavyweight title in August of that year, with intentions to finally make a long-rumored move to the organization’s heavyweight in a bid to become a two-division championship holder.
However, due to a combination of public negotiation fallouts with the UFC in an attempt to fight Francis Ngannou, paired with his intentions to plan out a rigorous training regime ahead of a heavyweight division move, Jon Jones has yet to feature in the division.
The New Yorker hit the headlines following his induction into the Fight Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame in September last, when he was arrested and charged with battery domestic violence, as well as injuring or tampering with a vehicle near the grounds of the Ceasars Palace Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Last night footage emerged detailing the events during the arrest of Jones by responding Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers near the grounds for The Mirage, where an irate and belligerent Jones hurls multiple insults at officers, accuses them of racially profiling him, humiliating him on his Hall of Fame night, as well as headbutting the hood of a police cruiser.
Jones would reach a plea deal with prosecutors in December last, pleading no contest to a charge of destroying the property of another. Jones was ordered to pay a fine in the region of $25 to $250 as a result, and also paid a sum of $750 in restitution to the victim of the property damage. Jones was also instructed to attend anger management counselling, and “stay out of trouble”.
This Wednesday evening, Jones revealed on his official Twitter account that his longtime fiancé, Moses, had left him a couple of months ago and explained how he felt like “sh*t” as a result.
“My fiancé left me about two months ago, today she finalized that she won’t be coming back,” Jon Jones tweeted. “If you are a hater, have a toast, I feel like sh*t.”
Former interim UFC welterweight champion, Colby Covington responded to Jones’ tweet, claiming that the news of the couple’s separation was “tremendous”, as well as claiming that Jones had “knocked some sense” into Moses.
“Tremendous news,” Colby Covington tweeted. “Guess you finally knocked some sense into her (Jesse Moses) @johnnybones.”
