The UFC returns this weekend featuring some of the most interesting and controversial
athletes the roster has to offer. With the event tipped to start at 9:00 pm UK / 4:00 PM ET, we
can’t wait to watch a night full of fights once again.
Jack Hermansson vs Sean Strickland
The main event involves one of the increasingly talked about fighters in the sport: from his extremely heavy sparring to his gruesome threats inside (and outside) the cage, the smack-talking brawler has made quite the name for himself. Sean Strickland splitting fans down the middle with them either loving or hating the Anaheim fighter. But parody aside, the BJJ brown belt is on an impressive 5 fight win streak including wins over Krzysztof Jotko and Uriah Hall, Sean is now approaching his hardest opponent since his Middleweight transition: Jack Hermansson.
Jack ‘The Joker’ Hermansson is the 6th ranked middleweight and has beaten some of the
top fighters such as Kelvin Gastelum and Jacare’ Souza. Now, the Scandinavian fighter will want to restore his dodgy 2-2 recent form with a win over the madman Sean Strickland.
While Jack dons a title worthy of being in the top 10 in his weight class, he has come into
MMA media attention for his wrestling loss against fellow European fighter, Khamzat
Chimaov
Shavkat Rakmonov vs Carlton Harris
Also fighting on the card is the highly-rated Shavkat Rakhmonov. Donning a perfect 14-0
record, the wicked Welterweight has finished every fight he’s been in, with a perfect split of 7 KO/TKOs and 7 Submissions. However, the ex-M1 Global Welterweight champion will face
one of his biggest tests yet, the inform Carlton Harris.
With only 2 fights in the UFC so far, Harris has yet to see the second round inside the
leading fight organisation thanks to an Anaconda choke and some precise standing
exchanges. Both Shavkat and Harris have fan-friendly styles and will no doubt be a fight to
watch out for.
Other Fights to note.
2021 Ultimate Fighter contestants Tresean Gore and Bryan Battle scrap it out in the
middleweight division, Brendan Allen takes a short notice fight against ‘Smilin” Sam Alvey
and Miles John (who interestingly has a win over the hype Adrian Yanez no less) battling it
out against John Castaneda.
