Report – Blagoy Ivanov vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima Booked For UFC 274 On May 7.

    A heavyweight pairing between the #13 ranked contender, Blagoy Ivanov, and Marcos Rogerio de Lima has been added to UFC 274 on May 7. – with a location or venue for the pay-per-view event yet to be determined by the organization.

    Attempting to snap a two-fight losing run in his outing against de Lima, Ivanov, a former WSOF and PFL heavyweight champion, most recently suffered a close, controversial split decision loss against Augusto Sakai at UFC Vegas 1 In May 2020. 

    Sao Paulo veteran, de Lima is in the midst of a two-fight winning run himself, most recently knocking back Ben Rothwell with a first round knockout at UFC Vegas 42 in November. reporter, Cole Shelton was first to report the pairing of Ivanov and de Lima.

    18-4(1) as a professional, Bulgarian finisher, Ivanov suffered another close split decision loss against recent headliner, and upcoming UFC 271 co-headliner, Derrick Lewis back in November 2019. 

    During his five-fight UFC run, Ivanov holds decision victories over both Tai Tuivasa, and common-foe, Rothwell, after a debut decision loss against former heavyweight champion, Junior dos Santos.

    The owner of six knockout wins and a further six submission victories, Ivanov has also bested Ricco Rodriguez, Lavar Johnson, and Shawn Jordan during his professional career.

    A 13-fight Octagon veteran, Brazilian knockout ace, de Lima holds wins over the likes of Maurice Greene, Igor Pokrajac, and Paulo Filho during his professional run, and even submitted former light heavyweight championship challenger, Thiago Santos during TUF Brasil 3 back in March 2014.

    UFC 274 takes place on May 7. – with a light heavyweight title clash between reigning champion, Glover Teixeira, and the surging #1 ranked contender, Jiri Prochazka has been booked for the event. A much-anticipated lightweight title showdown between champion, Charles Oliveira, and former interim champion, Justin Gaethje is also on deck for the event.
