An all-Swedish bantamweight rematch clash is on deck for a UFC Fight Night event on April 16. – with the #12 ranked contender and The Ultimate Fighter 28 finalist, Pannie Kianzad drawing the #11 rated Lina Lansberg. At the time of publication, an official location or venue for the event has yet to be determined by the organization.
First meeting back in December 2012, Kianzad improved to 3-0 as a professional courtesy of a first round knockout win over Lansberg, under the Trophy MMA banner in Malmo, Sweden.
Seeing her impressive four-fight winning run halted back in September, Kianzad dropped a unanimous decision defeat against one-time bantamweight title challenger, Raquel Pennington at UFC Vegas 37.
For Lansberg, the Karlstad native currently boasts a 10-5 professional record, most recently suffering a UFC Fight Night Raleigh loss to former bantamweight title challenger, Sara McMann back in January 2020. After two-years on the sidelines, Lansberg is slated to return on April 16. against Kianzad – as first reported by Swedish outlet, FrontKick.Online.
15-6 as a professional, Iran-born Swede, Kianzad entered the UFC back in November 2018 after progressing to the TUF 28 final against Macy Chiasson, where she dropped a second round rear-naked choke.
A former undisputed Cage Warriors bantamweight champion, Kianzad also spent a period under the Shannon Knapp-led Invicta FC banner.
Before her defeat to Pennington, Kianzad managed to embark on an impressive quartet of wins over Alexis Davis, Sijara Eubanks, Bethe Correira, and Jessica-Rose Clarke.
Amongst her other career wins, Kianzad has bested the likes of Kerry Hughes, Annalissa Bucci, Eeva Siiskonen, and Milana Dudieva.
An eight-fight UFC alum, Lansberg was issued a baptism of fire in the promotion back in September 2016 – clashing with eventual undisputed featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg.
The composed striker holds UFC wins over Lucie Pudilova, Gina Mazany, former title challenger, Tonya Evinger, as well as a unanimous judging win over common-foe and The Ultimate Fighter 28 winner, Chiasson. From 10 professional wins, Lansberg has managed four knockout triumphs.
The UFC Fight Night event is slated to take place on April 16. – with a high-stakes, potential welterweight title-eliminator rematch between streaking top-5 duo, Vicente Luque, and Belal Muhammad booked to take main event honors.
