Surging UFC middleweight contender, Sean Strickland has plans to make a title siege at 185lbs next year, and has poked fun at current champion, Israel Adesanya’s appearance back at UFC 253 in September of last year – as well as offering in a rather bizarre way, to utilize performance-enhancing drugs with him.
Strickland, undefeated in his last five straight Octagon walks, last featured in the main event of UFC Vegas 33 in July, taking a unanimous decision win over division mainstay, Uriah Hall.
The outspoken California native is slated to return in a high-profile UFC Fight Night main event on February 5. against Jack Hermansson, in a bid to possibly crack the division top-5 with an impressive win.
For Adesanya, the current division kingpin is booked to take main event status on February 12 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, in a middleweight championship rematch against former champion, Robert Whittaker.
Whilst complimenting the Nigerian-Kiwi’s ability as a fighter during a recent interview with MMA Junkie reporter, Mike Bohn, Strickland questioned the physique of the champion, as well as alluding to thoughts that he was utilizing performance-enhancing drugs, before offering to utilise those banned substances with him.
“Izzy’s (Israel Adesanya) a great fighter – he comes from kickboxing – have you ever seen a fighter with gyno (Gynecomastia) for any other reason than that?” Strickland said. “Besides him, have you ever seen a fighter in the UFC that smokes weed that gets gyno? Ever? You can’t, because it doesn’t f*cking happen unless you cycle wrong. That’s a fact. We all know it. But regardless of the fact, Izzy’s a f*cking great fighter. We know that. That’s the fight I want.”
“Izzy, I’ll come over, dude,” Strickland said. “We can f*cking watch anime and you can put soem f*cking testosterone in my ass. I’ll do it with you. Let’s f*cking go. With a needle I think you guys do the stomach, right? Is that where you guys do, the stomach? You’re the expert on f*cking steroids. How’s it done?”
