Conor McGregor: “I like 170. It’s mine soon. I’ll get the strap and then I’ll go up again.”

UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman secured another title defense last night at UFC 261. He did so via KO, which seems to have fired up Conor McGregor, who has competed at welterweight against Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone.

“Usman even copying my shots now. Am I to fight this guy at some stage? I think so. Can’t be copying my words and my shots and not get a smack for it. I like 170. It’s mine soon.” McGregor wrote on Twitter.

UFC 261 also saw the return of fans back at sporting events, with over 15,000 of them in attendance. This also played a part in McGregor’s statement, who went on to say it has him salivating and he’d like to return to the welterweight division after he captures the lightweight title.

Kamaru Usman has made no secret of the fact that he’d entertain a bout with McGregor, but he could have a long way to go as he prepares to face Dustin Poirier in the lightweight division this summer.
