After confirming his retirement over dinner with Dana White, former UFC Lightweight Champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov stuck around for some fights. Sitting cage-side at UFC Vegas 22, he managed to become a pivotal part of the main event.
In between rounds while being out-grappled by Derek Brunson, Kevin Holland pleaded for Khabib to give him some wrestling advice to take into the following rounds. You can see footage of that below, courtesy of ESPN MMA.
‘The Eagle’ was reluctant at first, but as we can see in the below video, he gave Kevin Holland some advice that would help him become the very first man to take Derek Brunson down inside the octagon.
Although Kevin Holland lost the fight, he took pleasure in the fact that he was able to take Brunson down. Holland posted on Instagram shortly after the fight that he wouldn’t stop trash talking anytime soon and described Khabib as a genius for his advice.
“One little piece of advice and I take down a guy that’s never been took down in [the] octagon. A true wrestling genius,” Holland wrote.
