UFC Rankings Update: Michael Chandler replaces Conor McGregor in top 5

This past weekend at UFC 257, the Lightweight division was on full display. With four of the divisions top fighters facing off against each other and a possible future title shot on the line for both winners.

All eyes were on the contests, not just because Conor McGregor was headlining, but because the Champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov had recently announced his retirement. He did however, according to Dana White, state that if someone impressed him, he may return for one more. If not, the belt would be vacated, and the UFC will have to crown a new Lightweight Champion.

After both Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier scored early knockouts, the rankings have shifted quite drastically, which you can see below, courtesy of the official UFC app.

After the event, Khabib Nurmagomedov told Dana White that none of these fighters were close to his level, and it sounds like his official retirement is imminent. This means the rankings may hold some clues as to what is next, and who may be fighting for the vacant belt.
