Former UFC Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier, is a long time friend and training partner of Khabib Nurmagomedov. A fighter known as one of the best of all time, but recently retired due to the passing of his father.
Dana White has recently told the media that he will be meeting with Khabib next month, to find out if he is truly retired or not and figure out what’s next for the Lightweight Championship. In a Q&A, Laura Sanko asked DC about the potential return of ‘The Eagle’ and what it will take for Dana White to convince him to do so.
“Do you think Khabib is coming back? Laura asked DC. “I know Dana is going to meet with him to try to use his powers of persuasion. What do you think is going to happen there?”
“I asked Khabib once, I said how much money would it take for me to be rich in Dagestan?” Daniel Cormier told Laura Sanko. “He said five million dollars and you’re rich for the rest of your life. Khabib has much more than five million dollars. So I don’t know how much the money is going to be the thing that draws him back to the octagon.”
“Dana’s going to have to tap into something within his spirit, to try to get him to fight again. He makes so much money outside of the octagon at this point, that it would have to be something that would drive him competitively to come back and fight. Because I don’t think it’s going to be money that makes him go back to the octagon.”
