Dan Hooker has been ranked in and around the top five of the UFC’s Lightweight rankings throughout 2020. He is coming off a potential fight of the year candidate against Dustin Poirier, where he lost a decision.

Poirier has gone on to sign a bout agreement with Conor McGregor, and Hooker has now reportedly lined himself up with a fight too. In an interview with Submission Radio, he discussed his upcoming plans.

“So do you already have a fight booked?” Submission Radio asked.

“I have a fight that has been offered to me and I have accepted the challenge,” Dan Hooker responded. “But I’m going to have to beat around the bush on who it is.”

“Let’s see, Chandler and Gaethje are booked, McGregor and Poirier are fighting,” Submission Radio said. “So let’s have a look at the rankings here. Could it be a guy by the name of Rafael Dos Anjos?”

“I can’t, it can’t be done!” Dan Hooker responded in regards to naming his opponent.

“Just confirm this for us at least,” Submission Radio said. “You won’t be on the Conor McGregor – Dustin Poirier card?”

“Boys, I can not confirm or deny any such allegations,” Dan Hooker said.

Submission Radio closed the conversation by jokingly wishing him good luck against Michael Chandler. That is a viable option, as Chandler has also stated he is in training camp to make his UFC debut. Though it is currently unclear who the two will face early next year.
