Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira go head to head tonight, in the UFC 256 co main event. It’s a fight that Dana White has stated could have title implications.
Before the two weighed in yesterday, Tony Ferguson posted a warning for Oliveira on social media. ‘El Cucuy’ stated that if Oliveira failed to make weight, he would refuse to compete with him. This came as a result of Oliveira previously missing weight, when he fought in the featherweight division.
In an interview with Sherdog.com, Oliveira’s coach, Diego Lima, stated that it was a result of Ferguson’s own worries.
“I am really happy with that statement from Ferguson, it just shows how worried he is about Charles’ size,” Lima told Sherdog.com. “It’s important to note that Charles had problems at featherweight but he never missed weight at 155.”
Charles Oliveira did in fact make weight, and now the focus is solely on the fight itself.
