Jon Jones is one of the most accomplished fighters in UFC history and had ruled the Light Heavyweight division for several years. Earlier this year, he revealed that he is looking for a new challenge, and will be taking some time out to gain muscle mass and compete in the Heavyweight division.
Appearing on Submission Radio, one of his head coaches, Mike Winklejohn, was asked about potential future matchups for Jon Jones, including Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya and Heavyweight Champion, Stipe Miocic.
“Who do you believe is the tougher fight, who do you believe is the tougher challenge?” Denis Shkuratov asked.
“I couldn’t pick a tougher one they’re totally different. They fight differently, different skill sets, different things they can and can’t do. There’s probably more variety with Izzy, but Stipe is a tremendously, mentally tough, strong fighter.” Mike Winklejohn responded.
Jones is currently more likely to face Miocic, as he moves up to Heavyweight. But while he is putting on weight for a few month, a lot can change.
