Not just one of the PPVs of the year, but one of the biggest ever in UFC history.
Khabib Nurmagomedov would have the chance to extend his record to 29-0, in what turned out to be the final fight of his career, after the passing of his father.
Facing him was interim Champion, Justin Gaethje. Who became the star of lockdown early on, as the UFC was the first major sport to get back on track, with a bout between Gaethje and Tony Ferguson. Gaethje took the spotlight and ran with it, earning an impressive TKO victory and snatching a 12 fight win streak from Ferguson.
Also on the card was a title shot eliminator between Robert Whittaker and Jared Cannonier. Whittaker has recently been beaten by the current champ, Israel Adesanya, which came after a long list of health and mental issues for Whittaker. Whereas Cannonier is yet to fight for the title, but was called out by Adesanya to fight for the belt, if he could make it past Whittaker.
