This weekend, the UFC Fight Island action continues.

Headlining the card is top Featherweight contenders, Brian Ortega and “The Korean Zombie”.

The fight has been a long time in the making. Once friends, the two have since had a long history of waiting to fight each other.

Earlier this year, TKZ was using a K-pop star, Jay Park to translate his messages to the media. This led to the star saying some negative things about a potential fight between TKZ and Brian Ortega, as he suggested that Ortega “ducked” TKZ when they were previously scheduled to fight.

At UFC 248, Ortega saw Jay Park at the event and approached him. This led to a scuffle, and Ortega slapped the star across the face.

TKZ took to Instagram to respond to Ortega, regarding the incident:

“Last night, you sat 10 meters away from me and Jay Park. For two hours nothing happened, so I thought everything was fine. But you fucking attacked Jay Park while I went to the bathroom. Jay Park is not a professional fighter but a musician. You slapped a civilian who merely helped translate.

Even worse, you were sitting there waiting until I would be absent and attacked Jay Park. It was not a fight like real men would do. What you have done is same as a grown up to beat a child. You should have attacked me. If so, I would have not been upset. You are such a coward for slapping a musician not a fighter”.

TKZ also went on to say “I will fight you and I will knock you out and your face will be f******* bloody. Now your face stays in my mind and I will f*** you up in the cage”.

Fast forward, and the two top contenders have been rescheduled to fight each other on October 17th.

On the line is not just a chance to settle their history, but Dana White also confirmed this week that the winner will be next in line for a Featherweight Title shot.

Both fighters have previously came up short in their title fights, and have not yet achieved their goal of becoming a UFC champion.

Brian Ortega is coming off a long lay off, after suffering the first defeat of his professional career, and taking time to change his team and come back stronger.

TKZ on the other hand is coming off a KO victory over former UFC Champion, Frankie Edgar.

It all goes down this weekend, and we can’t wait.
